Dining & Activities at Catawba Valley Living at Rock Barn

Our Fine Dining Program

Catawba Valley Living at Rock Barn is committed to making the dining experience the social event that we all know and embrace. Good friends, good food, and good conversation are the cornerstones of southern hospitality.

Dining RoomCatawba Valley Living at Rock Barn serves each meal on fine linens and china. The meals are prepared from scratch with a local chef at the helm. The menus are prepared with the residents’ preferences in mind. Therefore, the residents can look forward to selecting their favorite dishes from the daily menu, served restaurant style, and know that they will be receiving a balanced, healthy, an nutritious meal that will be served with creativity and pleasing presentation.

Let’s not forget that in addition to three scheduled meals and two scheduled snack offerings, the “Snack Bars” are open 24 hours a day should a resident have a “midnight craving”. In addition, as a collaboration between our chef and Activities Coordinator, the “Tee Room” has a safe and monitored cooking area where the residents can bake up a batch of cookies or make their homemade recipe for chicken soup for themselves or to share with others.

Our 'Seniors on the Go' Activities Program

Man Playing Pool“Never a dull moment” is the motto of the Activities Department at Catawba Valley Living at Rock Barn. Residents who come to live in our Community may expect many social interactions and one-on-one activities to choose from.

Because we recognize that all individuals enjoy different leisure activities, our activities coordinator creates the monthly calendar with resident preferences in mind. The activities program is designed to promote physical, social, and mental well-being. From scrap booking, to pool, bridge, or poker tournaments, to a treasure hunt, or an outing on our handicapped equipped bus, residents can find something to pique their interests each and every day.

Woman Doing CrosswordsFor those who have never been “social-joiners”, our activities director and her volunteers make time to sit and chat, play a quiet game of cards, or have a two-person book club discussion activity, just to name a few. With outings from the beautiful rural surroundings of Catawba County, to the beaches and mountains, and back, boredom will never be an option at our Community.
